The former United States Champion Samoa Joe returned back to WWE in June and appointed as the special enforcer for NXT General Manager William Regal. On his return he teased possible matches with several NXT superstars including NXT Champion Karrion Kross.
From the past few weeks, tensions raised between Samoa Joe and Karrion Kross and also Kross attacked Joe last week, after Kross successful title defense against Johnny Gargano. On this week’s NXT, Joe waited for Kross to arrive Capitol Wrestling Center to get revenge but Kross turned the table on Joe and left attacking William Regal.

According to the Dave Meltzer, during the tapings of next week’s NXT which was set to air on July 27th, the match between Samoa Joe and Karrion Kross reportedly confirmed for NXT TakeOver with NXT Title on line. This event scheduled to take place on August 22nd.

Kross vs. Joe for the NXT title is official for the 8-22 Takeover.

According to the another report from Fightful, Joe offered his resignation to William Regal as his special enforcer and also stated that he wants match against NXT Champion Karrion Kross. It was also noted that contract also signed and match was set.
