WWE NEWS: Backstage WWE Royal Rumble news (spoilers)
We are less than 24 hours away from the Royal Rumble, one of WWE’s biggest pay-per-view’s of the year, and speculation is rampant on who will be brought back for surprise appearances.

PWInsider has some backstage notes on the Men’s and Women’s Rumble matches. Mike Johnson noted that there will be a lot of NXT wrestlers involved in the Rumble and Shayna Baszler is scheduled for the Women’s Rumble match.
Mercedes Martinez will make her WWE pay-per-view debut as she will be competing in the Women’s Rumble match. Martinez was seen at ringside at the Worlds Collide show on Saturday night.
Molly Holly and Beth Phoenix are also scheduled for the Women’s Rumble match.
Johnson noted that there has been no talk of Ronda Rousey appearing this weekend and if she is going to appear then it’s being well hidden by management. Johnson noted that a new Rousey shirt went up on WWEShop.com. That is incorrect. The shirt has been up on WWEShop.com since last April so that is not an indication that she will be at the Rumble.
Sasha Banks is scheduled to compete in the Women’s Rumble and there are no plans for Becky Lynch or Asuka to compete in that match.
