5 WWE Superstars who Paul Heyman could manage next
The world of professional wrestling has seen numerous manager-wrestler duos, but only a few managers can compare to the impact that Paul Heyman has made in the business. Currently serving as the executive director of Monday Night RAW, Paul Heyman is one of the best managers, or should I say “advocate” in WWE’s history.
Having managed numerous Superstars in his career, five of whom have gone on to become WWE Champions, Paul Heyman is best known for his work alongside The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, and the Straight Edge Superstar, CM Punk.
For the past few years, he has only been managing Lesnar and with his part-time schedule, there have been discussions among fans about Heyman getting himself a new “client”. In all honesty, Paul Heyman is too valuable of an on-screen character to not be utilized by the company and he could certainly help another Superstar reach the heights of success.
Let’s take a look at five Superstars who Paul Heyman could manage next. Be sure to let us know your thoughts and views in the comments section below.
#5 Shinsuke Nakamura as a Paul Heyman guy
Shinsuke Nakamura is highly talented guy in WWE but they were not using him in the current direction right now. He came to SmackDown with lot of buzz after having a great run on NXT.
With the fans on side WWE had decided to make him the winner of the 2018 Royal Rumble. But the dream match with AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34 didn’t live up to the expectation and the heel turn ever since has been underwhelming.
With him not being very proficient in English, he is someone who could (really) use a manager. Shinsuke Nakamura as a Paul Heyman guy could do wonders for him as Heyman’s words and Nakamura’s “strong style” would go hand in hand perfectly.
With the Phenomenal One being traded to SmackDown recently, Nakamura might be the one who moves to RAW and can start fresh as the top heel of the red brand.
#4 Paul Heyman manages Shayna Baszler
When it comes to Paul Heyman managing Superstars, fans have always wanted to see him manage a female WWE Superstar as well. But there’s no doubt that the Superstar in contention should be as destructive as Heyman’s current client, Brock Lesnar. Who comes to mind? Shayna Baszler!
The Queen of Spades had one of the greatest Championship reigns in NXT as the brand’s Women’s Champion, destroying every competition in her path. Unfortunately, her main roster career hasn’t been that great. She did have a great showing at Survivor Series 2019 and Royal Rumble 2020 but wasn’t able to defeat Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.
With her having an interesting MMA background, she could fit very well with someone like Paul Heyman, who could make fans realize just how dangerous Baszler is.
With Lynch out of the women’s division of RAW for the near future, Baszler could be the one to rule it.There have been many “Paul Heyman guys” in history, maybe it’s time to get a “Paul Heyman girl”.
#3 Cesaro becomes a Paul Heyman guy again
Cesaro is the only Superstar previously managed by Paul Heyman. He is exceptionally talented athletes on the WWE roster, Cesaro has always been very underrated and is yet to get his “big break”.
After winning the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX, Cesaro revealed himself to be a Paul Heyman guy, dumping his previous manager Zeb Colter. Unfortunately, the alliance didn’t last long and what was looking to be a huge push for the Swiss Superman ended abruptly.
Nonetheless, WWE has a great talent in their hands in the form of Cesaro, and pairing him up again with Paul Heyman could give them a new main event star. There’s no denying to his in-ring capability and fan support and it’s almost criminal to see someone like him not be a World Champion after so many years in the company.
Just like I mentioned with Nakamura in the first slide, Cesaro could be the one to move to RAW for AJ Styles and WWE can then pair him up with Paul Heyman and let the magic flow.
#2 Ronda Rousey returns with Paul Heyman as her manager
Ronda Rousey coming to WWE is arguably one of the biggest and most successful crossovers in the sports industry. The UFC Hall of Famer came to WWE and instantly impressed everyone with her performance and charisma.
Winning the RAW Women’s Championship just a few months after her in-ring debut, she had a dominating reign with it that lasted over 230 days. She was a part of the first-ever all women’s WrestleMania main event last year alongside Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. After losing her title to The Man at the Show of Shows, the Baddest Women on the Planet has been on a hiatus from the WWE ring.
Nothing to worry though, as all signs point to her returning to WWE in the future and one has to wonder what could be a grand way for her to return? What if she returns with Paul Heyman as her manager? We all know the destruction that she can cause in a fight and pairing her up with someone like Paul Heyman just seems like a great idea.
#1 Bobby Lashley as a Paul Heyman guy
Bobby Lashley made his grand WWE return on the RAW after WrestleMania 34 in 2018. Having dominated the entire roster of Impact Wrestling and becoming a triple champion, he came back with a lot of hype around him. Everyone wanted to see him take on Brock Lesnar in a dream match.
Unfortunately, things went the other way as he got involved in some meaningless and disappointing feuds against many Superstars. But none was as bad as his storyline against Rusev as Lana’s lover, and apparently, new husband as well. Thankfully, WWE seems to have realized their mistakes as he is now slowly been pushed away from the Ravishing Russian and is currently being managed by MVP.
As per the rumors, WWE is planning on the dream match between Lashley and Brock Lesnar. In many ways, it could be a great rivalry and if WWE wants to take everyone by surprise, the feud could lead to Paul Heyman turning on the Beast Incarnate and joining hands with Lashley. MVP might not be a permanent on-screen character and Lashley won’t hesitate to dump him for the services of Paul Heyman.
Bobby Lashley as a Paul Heyman guy could revive his second run with the company!
