Sami Zyan was out of WWE due to pandemic and at time he was the Intercontinental Champion. He was pulled out as Champion as he unable to defend it but from then he is claiming that he was the rightful Champion. 

Tonight on Smackdown Jeff Hardy issues the open challenge for IC Title for all Superstars except AJ Styles. Then Shinsuke Nakamura answered the challenge for the IC Title.

Jeff Hardy defeated Nakamura by hitting Twist of Fate and three count to retain the title. AJ was at annoucers table and says he cheated last week by using knee brace. 

Hardy went near ramp and taunting AJ but suddenly Sami Zyan music hits and came out with his IC Title. He claims he was the rightful Champion. AJ trying to go near ramp, Hardy was distracted and Sami hits Helluva kick to Hardy and left the ramp.

It’s look like Sami Zyan wants the title. So WWE planning for Triple Threat IC Title Match at WWE Payback this Sunday.
