Sami Zyan returned to WWE after long hatius due to pandemic and he directly entered into the IC Title picture and started feud with IC Champion Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles.

This week on Smackdown he had match with AJ Styles which was his first match after six months. However he lost the match and later attacked by Jeff Hardy.

As noted, Sami Zyan got the Intercontinental Championship opportunity at WWE Clash of Champions. Jeff Hardy going to defend his IC Title in Ladder Match against AJ Styles and Sami Zyan.
