Welcome to Sports Arenaa WWE News!!!!!!!!!!
Paul Heyman recently appeared as special guest on Sports Illustrated Media Podcast and discussed about Tribal Cheif Roman Reigns current run as heel. He explained why Roman Reigns cannot play the current gimmick a year ago.
Paul Heyman revealed that Vince McMahon and Roman Reigns himself wants to turn heel a year ago but they didn’t do that. He said that Roman could do this portrayal a year ago because he wasn’t a seasoned or experienced enough. Now look at his face, he had burden and weight of being top guy and main eventing WrestleMania seen in his face.
“Roman Reigns could not pull off this portrayal of the top star in the industry, even a year ago. He wasn’t weather or seasoned or experienced enough. He still worked too young. Now, you look at his face and see some seasoning and weathering. He was beating the crap out of his cousin inside Hell in a Cell and he says, ‘I did this to you when we were kids and here we are 35 years old doing this.’ He looks 35. He looks like a badass 35, but he looks 35. Before, he looked late 20s, early 30s and he was still too young. He wasn’t grizzled and didn’t have any scars. Now, you see the wars on his face. You see the pressure and obligation and responsibility and accountability and the sheer burden.” (H/T: Fightful)
Roman Reigns returned at Summer Slam and attacked The Fiend Bray Wyatt and turned heel for the first time. Later he won the Universal Title by defeating The Fiend at Payback. He then showed his different side as The Tribal Cheif and had feud with his cousin Jey Uso, where he brutalized him.
