AJ Styles Shares Update About His Retirement Plans
In a recent interview with Graham Matthews of Bleacher Report, The former two-time WWE Champion AJ Styles discussed about his in-ring future.
AJ Styles is currently 43-years old and he’s one of the oldest superstar in the company. While speaking to Bleacher Report, he said that he sometimes feels like he can for five or six more years and sometimes it’s like he can be done this year. He further stated that he wants to continue to as long as he body co-operates with him.
Here what AJ Styles said:
“It’s really whenever it feels right. Some days, I feel like I can go five, six more years; and then some years I’m like, ‘Oh, man, I can be done this year.’ As you get older, it’s just changing. You have to listen to your body and figure out what it can do next.”
“With my style, it’s a bit different, so I like to push it still to this day. I’m going to go as long as I can, as long as I can stay healthy and see what happens and where it takes us.”
Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley, MVP, R-Truth, Robert Roode and Shelton Benjamin are other superstars older than AJ Styles. After his debut in 2016 Royal Rumble, he became two-time WWE Champion, one time Intercontinental Champion and three-time United States Champion.
He also won the WWE’s 2020 Match of the Year award for his Boneyard Match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. He recently announced his entry into Royal Rumble 2021 match.
