During an interview with The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, The Undertaker spoke about CM Punk. He praised CM Punk skills and popularity but he felt that Punk started his UFC career too late.
“I didn’t understand it. He had an issue with the company. Sometimes people just wanna… they need a new challenge. But he was the top dude, he was a top guy for the company. Sometimes, like I said, I don’t know enough because I wasn’t around enough at that time, but I don’t know that he had enough background [to fight in UFC]. It was kind of late in the game, I think, for him to make that transition.” (H/T: SK Wrestling)
Undertaker and CM Punk had some great matches between them. In 2009, CM Punk defeated Undertaker at Bragging Rights to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Title. Then, At Hell In A Cell 2009 pay-per-view, The Phenom defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
At WrestleMania 29, Undertaker and CM Punk wrestled in singles match and Undertaker picked up the victory against Punk. And it was the CM Punk’s final WrestleMania match.
