The Boss Sasha Banks recently appeared on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions and discussed about several topics including her friendship with ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair.
When Stone Cold asked Sasha Banks about her feuds with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bayley, Banks said that among the three superstars, it was more competitive between her and Charlotte as they were real-life friends.
Here what Sasha Banks said about Charlotte Flair:
“To be honest, I don’t feel like it was really competitive. The only thing I was competitive with was me and Charlotte. Real life. We were real-life friends and then it became a little competitive. I’m like, ‘okay, I see your last name’ and I’m going to raise it up. I’m going to build my own. I’m so thankful for Charlotte Flair because the first week that I went to FCW, I locked up with her. And I’ve never locked up with somebody like the way I locked up with her. It was the most crisp… even the coaches were like, from a lockup, everyone kind of stopped. And I was like, ‘you’re my kind of magic partner. We are going to create a lot of magic.'”
Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks are both came through NXT and had few feuds over NXT Women’s Title in 2014 & 2015 in black and gold brand. After moving to main roster, they continued their rivalry and produced some great matches.
Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair became the first Women superstar in WWE history to main event a WWE pay-per-view, in which they both battled in first-ever Hell In A Cell match in 2016.
During the show, Stone Cold also asked Banks about her first Hell In a Cell match in WWE. Then, Banks revealed that WWE didn’t ask her if wanted to do that match. They wanted to her to do it and Mick Foley is going to do contract signing for their Hell in a Cell match.
Here what Sasha Banks said about her first Hell in a Cell Match:
“I’ve been in three (Hell in a Cell matches). It’s intimidation, it’s scary, it’s a lot of things going in my mind. WWE didn’t even ask me if I’m cool with it. They’re just like, ‘no, you’re going to have it, you’re going to do it,’ and you’re like, ‘okay (laughs)’. Next thing you know you’re finding out Mick Foley is going to do a contract signing with you, signing over that you’re going to do a Hell in a Cell match, which is like, this is really WWE.
In 2016 Hell in a Cell PPV, Sasha Banks faced Charlotte Flair in Hell in a Cell match with Raw Women’s title on line. But Charlotte won that match to win the Raw Women’s Championship.
