The 2021 Royal Rumble match was won the Rated-R Superstar Edge by entering at No #1. This match was almost lasted for an hour and Edge came up above 29 other superstars to punch his ticket to WrestleMania 37 main event.

There also some additional segments planned in Royal Rumble match, which was cancelled by the company according to the reports. The Fightful Select reported the several nixed plans in the Royal Rumble Match. 

First one was for Ricochet, he was actually set to come late in the match but it was changed and he entered at #12. He lasted in the match for 12 minutes before eliminated by Kane. 

Another plan is that RETRIBUTION set to be at the ringside, the plan  would be to ’cause mayhem’ with one member on three different sides of the ring. And it was noted that WWE had done similar segment with Omos.

In another report, it was revealed that Murphy, Cedric Alexander and Montez Ford were the alternative superstars in Royal Rumble 2021 match. 

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the Royal Rumble Matches didn’t went as planned and there were some botched eliminations in the match. Bayley was eliminated from the match earlier than as planned. It was noted that Rey Mysterio’s elimination spot with Omos gone earlier than initially planned.
