The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Christian was forced to retire in 2014 due to multiple concussions. This year he made surprise in-ring return at WWE Royal Rumble 2021 pay-per-view after seven years and also had reunion with his tag partner Edge during the Rumble match.
After his in-ring return, fans expected that he would be signing with WWE but he was decided to join All Elite Wrestling, which was big shocker for fans.
Christian recently appeared as special guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions Podcast and discussed about several topics. During the show, he also revealed the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon reaction after he got cleared for in-ring return.
The Captain Charisma said that Vince McMahon knew that he was cleared to wrestle in September or October last year and he was very happy about it. Here what Christian said:
“I kind of floated it out there before that to Vince that I had been cleared. You know, he was very happy about it. We had a couple of good conversations about it. I said, ‘There’s still some work to do but we’ll see where we get to at this point and kind of move forward from there.’”
“I knew that I still wasn’t ready to get back at that point. That was probably end of September, October, I knew there was still some work to do, but I was much closer than I was in July.” (H/T: Sportskeeda)
Following Edge return to WWE, Christian appeared couple of times during storyline with Randy Orton. He also wrestled in unsanctioned match against Randy Orton, which was won by Orton in quickly after Ric Flair hitting low-blow to Christian.
