The Rated-R Superstar Edge main event WrestleMania after 13 years. Last time he battled against The Undertaker with WWE World Heavyweight Championship on line. Now, the Edge is facing Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan in Triple Threat Match with Universal Title on line.
Ahead of his Universal Championship Match at WrestleMania 37, Edge had an interview with Ryan Satin on his Out of Character podcast. Edge stated that he didn’t realize this historic moment of some pointed out that the match was taking place exactly after ten years of his retirement announcement on Raw.
“It got pointed out to me that the second night of Mania is ten years to the day that I announced my retirement on Raw. You can’t write stuff like that.”
The 2021 Royal Rumble Winner Edge also said that none of this would have happened if he didn’t had tron triceps during this feud with Randy Orton. He said that it feels serendipitous that able to come back to the squared circle after having injuries.
“I don’t know if serendipitous is the right word, who knows, but sometimes things work in magical ways and I think that that’s one of them. To be able to kind of come full circle, full deck, after having this thing torn away from me. That it’s back and, somehow, I’m in the main event of WrestleMania.”
“Some people have the rocket strapped, right, that wasn’t the case for me.” – @EdgeRatedR to @ryansatin on becoming ‘The Rated R Superstar’
During the interview, Edge also discussed about the similarities between his opponents Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns, who they all have taken time off to wrestling due to injuries and health issues.
“It’s almost hard to try and tell the story of heroes and villains in a way, because you got these three guys who had some pretty big lumps thrown their way.”
“If you had said four years ago that there was the possibility that the three of us could be main eventing WrestleMania, I think most people would say you’re crazy. It’s weird because this is one of those instances where it’s more than Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and Edge. That kinda goes more to Joe, Bryan and Adam, and just how crazy it all is. And I guess speaks to how stubborn the three of us are!”
It was first announced that Edge vs. Roman Reigns for Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37 but on last week’s Friday Night Smackdown, WWE added Daniel Bryan to make it Triple Threat Match. This match will take place on Night Two of WrestleMania 37.
