In May 2020, Seth Rollins and his disciple Murphy started feud with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio. Later, Aalyah involved in the storyline and that turned romantic angle between Murphy and Aalyah Mysterio, they became close.
First, Rey and Dominik didn’t accept it but later they approved it and Murphy turned babyface, joined with Mysterio family. Murphy, then, turned on Seth Rollins and continued feud with him with Mysterios on their back. But that storyline didn’t last longer, after the feud with Seth Rollins, Murphy and Aalyah taken off from WWE TV.
Recently, on Friday Night Smackdown, Murphy returned to WWE TV and tried to align with The Messiah Seth Rollins as his disciple but Seth didn’t accept him.

WWE posted a picture of Murphy and Seth Rollins on the official Instagram account, then, Murphy responded to it stating that he never needed Mysterios but they used him. He also accused that Aalyah used her to be in TV for her acting career. Here what Murphy said:
“Let’s point out the obvious! The Mysterio’s used me! I never needed them! I’m beyond one of the most talent(ed) in-ring performers on the planet! Aalyah used me to be on tv and advance an acting career. Dominik used me so he had a reason to stand ringside. Rey was jealous that I became the new face of the cruiserweight(s) and he was left out of the discussion. They took what they wanted then they left me in the shadows! Sounds like my time in NXT.”
