WWE NXT Superstar Toni Strom recently had an interview with Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda and discussed about several topics. During the interview, Toni Strom was asked about her inspiration to get into the wrestling, then, she revealed Micike James as her inspiration and also had huge praise for her.

Here what Toni Strom said:

“Oh my god, where do I start? Mickie James was obviously just a huge one for me, and it’s pretty cool now that I know her, and I have competed against her. So it’s cool to be in the WWE, where all my heroes were growing up. It’s a big deal for me, and the way the Women’s division is now, I couldn’t be prouder. We’re doing good, us women.”

During the interview, Toni Strom also discussed about her time away from the ring during the pandemic. She said that it was longest time she was away from the ring and she thought about what would happen if she get back to ring again. Here what Toni Strom said:
“It was crazy because I had no idea what I was in for. I had, since I was thirteen years old, wrestled consistently up until that point with no more than a month off. Even if I had an injury and was off shows, I’d still be in the ring training. I’ve never been out of the squared circle for that long. And then all of a sudden, we were all down. In my head I was so focused on the idea of getting to America that I completely forgot what my ring conditioning would be like and what would happen when I got in the ring.”

She said that after her return to the ring after long period looks so hard and completely different. She said that pandemic hit ruined her motivation she did a lot of work to get back to the normal.

“I got in there and, I’m not going to lie, it was hard. That ring cardio was something completely different. It was a huge shock to the system. I’m just glad that I am back up to where I was. It’s taken a lot of work getting back to that. The pandemics hit and it’s hard to… it ruined a lot of my motivation. Because I had no idea of what was going to happen. When am I going to wrestle again? When am I going to get out there? It just completely shook me.”

After 8 months of hiatus, Toni Strom returned to NXT Takeover 31, which took place on October 4th, 2020. Then, she turned heel for the first time in her career by attacking Ember Moon.
