Tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown is live from WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. WWE already announced few segments for the tonight’s show.
Daniel Bryan earned the Universal Title shot against Roman Reigns last week by defeating Jey Uso and tonight, there will be contract signing between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.
WWE also announced that Intercontinental Champion Big E will return to Smackdown tonight and responds to the Apollo Crews challenge. And also Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair will be the special guest for KO Show hosted by Kevin Owens on tonight’s WWE SmackDown.
Here The Full Matches And Results With Short Review:
– Tonight’s show opened with Rated-R Superstar Edge. He says tonight there will be a big contract signing but he had Somethings to address, like people who mentioned his name from past few weeks. He recalls Roman Reigns saying he shouldn’t have to face guy like Edge, who’s a family man and whatever. Then, Edge calls Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns as great spin doctors. Edge goes on and says he’s carpenter of this table.
Now, Edge address Daniel Bryan, he brings up Bryan said last week that he deserves to be in WrestleMania main event more than Edge because he loves this and he had wrestled more matche than Edge from past three months. He says it’s time to remind the Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns and entire fanbase that who he is. While Bryan is wrestling once a week but he was pulled double shots and wrestled WWE Hall of Famers like The Undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Eddie Guerrero, Mr. Perfect, The British Bulldog, Terry Funk, and all over a time frame of 4 decades. Edge say he’s back here not because he has to be but he loves it.
Then, Daniel Bryan interrupts Edge. Bryan says Edge talks about Reigns getting sucked in but it’s looks like Edge get sucked in for what he had said last week, which was not his intention. Bryan says he had lot of respect for what Edge had done, how hard he tried to get back, how much he loves this. But one thing he wants to clear it that when Bryan wants to challenge Roman Reigns for Universal Title, it wasn’t about Edge.
Bryan says when he was down at Elimination Chamber, Edge points at WrestleMania sign and that demoralised him. Then, he mentions that this may be his last WrestleMania and he decided to throw all he had and do anything to get into the main event of the show. Bryan says Edge had his spot at WrestleMania main event and it isn’t about Edge. For Bryan to go to WrestleMania main event, he has to go WWE Fastlane, defeat Roman Reigns and take the title from him. That’s why he went into the business for himself.
Edge mentions that Roman Reigns already defeated Daniel Bryan and he know the circumstances but win is a win. Then, Edge brings up how he dominated Royal Rumble match and outlasted 29 other superstars for 60 minutes to win the match and Bryan is also in that match. Edge says he has mutual respect for Daniel Bryan but he doesn’t like how he gone all about this. Edge says Bryan is better than this but not better than Edge. Then, Edge drops the mic and left the ring. Bryan stares at Edge.
– WWE aired the video package of Shane Helms surprising Molly Holly with her 2021 WWE Hall of Fame induction during the WWE’s The Bump Show.
– Jey Uso walking at backstage and tries to enter Roman Reigns locker room but Paul Heyman stops him and asks where he’s going. Heyman asks if Jey Uso had talked to Reigns before, Jey says had talked to Reigns two days back and everything is fine. Heyman says Roman Reigns isn’t happy with Jey tapping out to Daniel Bryan in Steel Cage match. Then, Jey says he understoods that he had some business to handle and says he will be back later.
– Kayla Braxton at backstage with Seth Rollins and asks about Cesrao and we see how Cesrao swings the Seth Rollins two weeks back on Smackdown. Seth Rollins says why all are talking about this, he went their to help Cesrao. He has all the talent but doesn’t have much success like Seth Rollins and never been a leader. He went there to help him out but he got ridiculed, so he’s done with Cesrao. Then, Kayla Braxton brings up the Cesrao’s win over Murphy last week and says there will be rematch tonight. Seth Rollins says it’s surprising but he likes this idea.
– Cole sends the video of Nia Jax and Reginald shopping trip. Nia Jax tells Reginald to pick anything he wants, he tries all the outfits and Jax enjoying selecting the outfits, having photos but Shayna Baszler seems boring and scrolling her phone.
– Cesaro defeated Murphy via disqualification. During the match, Cesaro took Murphy for swing but Seth Rollins rushed towards ring and attacked Cesrao, that caused disqualification. After the match, Seth Rollins continued to attack Cesrao and hits a stomp. Seth yells that he’s not his level and kicked him again. He hits another stomp and talks trash. Then, he took the steel chair and puts around the Cesrao’s neck, hits few times. Then, he goes to hits another stomp but WWE officials came to stop him. Rollins exits the ring and officials helped Cesaro to get on his feet. At backstage, Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura stares at eachother.
– Sami Zyan with Kevin Owens at backstage and tells his documentary crew to film it. Sami tells how long he knows Owens and how WWE tried to screw Sami Zyan, and he decided to have Owens on his documentary. Owens says he KO Show to do tonight. Sami says they’re going to expose the truth and post it everywhere and do big numbers like Logan Paul. Kevin says he will think about it and walks off.
– Edge stops Jey Uso at backstage. Edge says he knows Jey’s whole family for a long time, so, he’s coming to him to talk like a man. Edge asks what’s Jey is doing, he brings up seeing Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso in 2015 and that made him to woke up. But now, he walks around his head down and what his dad thinks about it. Jey tells Edge to not talk like he knows everything. Jey talks about family and says Edge to go home and be with his family because after WrestleMania he won’t be able to enjoy anymore.
– Kevin Owens in the ring for the special edition of KO Show. He says that it feels good being her after few rough months, mentally and physically. He then introduces his special guests Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Owens talks about their WrestleMania 37 match and their chance of walking into the match has WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions like John Cena and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels did. Owens says if Banks and Bianca does this, it will be cementing their legacy as two of the greatest ever in history.
Owens then asks how they couldn’t beat Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler few weeks back. Owens believes they have some underlying issues and also some from Reginald and Carmella. Banks says she can’t help as she looks good and Reginald like her. Binaca interrupts her and says she doesn’t like Banks attitude. Belair says Reginald will be a problem for them at WWE Fastlane.
Banks says she had won the lot of matches and she’s like Micheal Jordan of women’s division, and says Belair maybe LeBron James one day. Sasha Banks says she would be stopping Bianca Belair in Royal Rumble match if she was in it. Banks says she isn’t worried about walking in and out of WrestleMania as two belts Banks because it will be she beats Nia and Baszler. Bianca Belair glad that she had eye on prize at Fastlane. Then, music hits, here comes WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler along with Reginald.
– Tamina Snuka and Natalya defeated Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair via Pinfall. After the match, Belair yells at Banks for being distracted by Reginald. Nia Jax, Baszler, Natalya, Snuak and Reginald stands tall in the ring.
– Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at backstage arguing, Banks says she can’t take the blame for loss and yells ‘Rookie’ at Belair’s face.
– Big E in the ring and addresses the Apollo Crews attack few weeks back. Big E takes a few shots at Crews and says beating Apollo isn’t enough, he wants to end Apollo Crews. Big E says Crews wants what is his and it’s good because he’s going to give him exactly what he wants. He says we will do it tonight and calls out Crews.
He starts yelling at Apollo Crews to come out and he isn’t appeared. Big E says it isn’t surprised and says he will extend his open challenge to whoever wants it. Then, King Corbin came out and says Big E to clam down because he’s out here to looking crazy. Corbin says he doesn’t want to tear his $10000 suit, then, Sami Zyan interrupts Corbin along with his documentary crew. Sami says he accepts the challenge as Corbin is not accepting it. It will be a good ending for his documentary by ended with winning Intercontinental title. Corbin and Sami Zyan arguing, then, Big E says whoever come first to the ring will get the IC Title match. Then Sami Zyan enters the ring first and says he got but Big E attacks Sami Zyan.
– Big E defeated Sami Zyan via Pinfall and retained his Intercontinental Championship. After the match, Apollo Crews attacked Big E from behind and hits a big angle slam. Crew yells at Big E and continued to attack at ringside. Then, he grabs the steel steps and hits to Big E. Crews tells Big E to get up and then he took him down and stand tall on steel steps.
– Kayla Braxton at backstage with Nia Jax and Reginald. Jax laughs at what happened between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair earlier, yet Banks thinking that they can win WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Then, Reginald tells Nia Jax to challenge Sasha Banks for Smackdown Women’s Title next week and Nia can walks into WrestleMania as double Champion. Nia Jax says it’s a great idea and tells Braxton to leave, then, Reginald and Jax talking about it.
– The Universal Champion Roman Reigns came out along with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso walking towards the ring. Then, Daniel Bryan came out and enters the ring, Adam Pearce is already in the ring with contract.
Pearce says there’s no further business and it’s time to sign the contract. Reigns fuels some tensions between the Pearce and him. Then, Reigns goes to sign the contract but says did Bryan really wants it. Reigns says how he was ok last week but this week he’s not ok with it. Roman Reigns says he’s not going to sign the title because Bryan doens’t deserve it.
Bryan says who would have thought that the Reigns is a man of words and he’s afraid after last week because he made Jey Uso to quit which was not done by Reigns. Bryan taunts Roman Reigns and says he’s afraid. Bryan goes on about how he should be one to be the Head of the Table, this upsetting Roman Reigns. Then, Reigns takes the pen and signs the contract and says he’s going to smash Bryan.
Bryan says he has a message now as he signed the contract that he’s going to make him tap out just like he didn to Jey Uso. Then, Jey Uso throws table out if the ring and went face to face of Daniel Bryan for disrespecting him. Uso tells Pearce that this match at Fastlane needs special enforcer to make sure everything is fair and square. Then, Edge came out and says proposes match between him and Jey Uso next. The winner of that match will be the special enforcer at WWE Fastlane. Pearce says it a great idea and makes it official for next week.
Edge enters the ring, then, he and Bryan attacks the Reigns and Jey Uso. Bryan throws Jey out of the ring and goes for Reigns but Edge tossed him aside. Then, Reigns gets out of the ring and Bryan hist running knee to the Edge and stands tall. Reigns at ringside with his title and Bryan music hits with yes chants and Smackdown goes off air.
