Earlier, it was reported by Dave Meltzer that Vince McMahon made few late changes to WrestleMania 37 card including Universal Championship Match. Meltzer said that it was speculated that Roman Reigns would be cheered over Edge in the storyline and wants to made some changes in the match.
Several pitches suggested at backstage about Edge vs. Roman Reigns match and finally everyone at backstage agreed to add Daniel Bryan to that match, which wil likely to be announced this week’s Friday Night Smackdown. Now, Dave Meltzer gave an another update about change of that match.
Now, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Vince McMahon made this pretty late and one person close to this situation mentioned that there is some backstage concern over Edge’s age. It’s not about the number but 47-year old WWE Hall of Famer looking older each week. But at the end Vince McMahon just wants to shake up the plans.
One person close to the situation said that the age issue, not as much the number as the look of age (“he was looking older each week”) with Edge was a concerning point. But really, it was said it was just McMahon wanting to shake up the plans.
But current storyline of Daniel Bryan looks similar to the his WrestleMania XXX storyline of capturing World Heavyweight Championship in 2014. This time Bryan doesn’t have much momentum like that time but it doesn’t mean he would be booed.
Meltzer also stated that Edge expected to be booed following the outcome of the WWE Fastlane, in which he attacked Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns at the end of the match.
