The Rated-R Superstar Edge recently had an interview with Sports Nation and discussed about numerous topics that includes breaking Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak in 2014.
Edge revealed that he refused to break the Undertaker’s Streak in 2008 at WrestleMania 24 and stated that The Big Dog Roman Reigns should’ve ended the Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak. Here what Edge said:
“I think that should have been saved for someone who you want to strap the rocket to. And you know and you trust and is going to like… to me, Roman Reigns was the guy to do it. And that’s where it should have been done. I know I get that he’s a believable one to do it, but okay, great, this is professional wrestling. It’s not MMA. So to me, you do it with the character that you think is going to pull your cart for the next 10-15 years.” (H/T: SK Wrestling)
The former WWE World Champion Edge was one of the top heel in the company back in 2008 and kick-off feud with Undertaker on WWE SmackDown brand over World Championship. That lead to the match between Edge and The Phenom Undertaker at WrestleMania 24.
They both had intense match on the main event and at some point fans thought that streak is going to end that night. But at the end, Undertaker defeated the Edge and won the World Heavyweight Championship.
However, The Deadman Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak is ended at WrestleMania 30 by the The Beast Brock Lesnar.
