The Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle recently had an interview with Hannibal TV opened up about several topics including why he won’t join AEW.
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle said that his relationship with WWE is good and he likes to keep it that way. He didn’t have any plans to go to AEW and didn’t spoke them that much.
He also revealed that there are some talks going on between him and WWE but he didn’t revealed anything about it. He also said that he wants to be loyal to the company.
“Well, my relationship with WWE is really good and I like to keep it that way. I don’t have any plans of going to AEW. I haven’t really spoke to them that much. Just a couple messages sent back and forth but nothing serious. I have something going on with WWE right now and it most likely will materialize. I can’t talk about it but that’s what I’m waiting on and I don’t wanna mess that up. The company’s been so good to me and I wanna be loyal to them.” (H/T: POST Wrestling)
Following his retirement in 2019, Kurt Angle started working as backstage producer in WWE but he was released by WWE in 2020 due to pandemic budget cuts. After that he appeared in NXT as special guest referee for the Fight Pit match between Riddle and Timothy Thatcher in May 2020.
After that he also appeared on Friday Night Smackdown, in which he announced the arrival of Riddle to blue brand. It was also reported that WWE offered him a role of managing Riddle but he turned it down.
