The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns defeated Daniel Bryan and Edge to retain his Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37 and made WWE Universe to acknowledge him.

Fans speculated that Roman Reigns might lose his title at WrestleMania 37 but he came out of victorious in hard hitting match. Now, we got an reported reason about why WWE choose Reigns to retain his title.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE is protecting Roman Reigns for big money matches against likes The Rock, John Cena and Brock Lesnar. So, they chose Roman Reigns to win at WrestleMania 37 instead of Edge or Daniel Bryan.
“They are playing the long game. The three biggest money matches they believe they have are all with Reigns, with Dwayne Johnson, John Cena and Brock Lesnar. You don’t have to have Reigns always win and those matches would still draw if he lost now and won it back later.”

There is a lot of speculation that who might be the next opponent for Roman Reigns and also brought up some names like Big E and Cesrao on the line to get opportunity at Universal Championship. However, even if they get the chance, there is likely that Reigns won’t lose his title anytime soon.

Proud of my cousin @WWERomanReigns’ performance. Even more proud of his perseverance & strength as he takes one day at a time to recover from leukemia.
Good to be with him in the islands during this time. #HobbsAndShaw https://t.co/Cj3XITCBF8

Dave Meltzer also stated that Daniel Bryan isn’t the WWE’s pick to win the title and Edge win would have made the better story. But the company made the decision to win Roman Reigns to protect him for big money matches than fans having happy ending for the WrestleMania event.
“But Bryan is not their pick as champion now, and while Edge would have made for a better story on the day, he’d have to lose it back, and by the result, you can see they made the decision that they’d rather protect Reigns for the money matches than give fans a happy ending for night two.”
