On this week’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown, Swiss Cyborg defeated Seth Rollins in a singles match and became the new #1 contender for Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash.
On the main event, Roman Reigns had to deal with some tensions between him and his cousin Jimmy Uso, who returned on same night. But Cesaro crashed it by attacking Universal Champion Roman Reigns and took down The Usos and got the upper hand the champion.

Following the show, Cesaro took the Instagram and reacted about the throwback edition of Smackdown. He stated that it’s fitting to earn his title shot at Universal Championship on throwback edition of Smackdown and he’s looking forward his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash.
“I think it’s fitting that I earned my first chance at a world/universal title on a throwback edition of #smackdown. I do believe in old school values. I believe in hard work paying off. I also believe that the biggest test is yet to come. Sunday May 16th, let’s do this!”
