There is a lot of buzz around the internet about the possible John Cena’s WWE return and feud with Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Previously, it was reported that the 16-time World Champion John Cena might return to WWE on 16th July episode of Friday Night Smackdown.
Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Wrestling Podcast reported that there will be a big match involving Leader of Cenation John Cena at WWE Summer Slam 2021 match card.
Now, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that rumor of John Cena vs. Roman Reigns match at Summer Slam are ture. Though, WWE talks with John Cena not yet finalized but these plans are definitely in place.
“The leading rumor is Roman Reigns vs. John Cena for the Universal title. We do know that as of last week they were in talks with Cena, that were not finalized, to appear on the 7/16 Smackdown show in Houston,” Meltzer noted.
It was also noted that Roman Reigns vs. John Cena already happened once before at a Pay-Per-View, still, Cena return would be a big deal in WWE and could be seen as a passing of the torch moment.
Roman Reigns vs. John Cena would be a big money match at Summer Slam. Meanwhile, WWE is likely saving clash between The Rock and Roman Reigns for WrestleMania event.
It was also reported that there is possibility of The Beast Brock Lesnar return to WWE and feud with Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman in storyline. But there is no word about Brock Lesnar’s return to the company anytime soon.
“There’s also the return of Brock Lesnar as a possibility, with the Paul Heyman natural storyline, or as a real stretch, Bill Goldberg or Undertaker,” Meltzer wrote.
