On this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw, Kofi Kingston answered Bobby Lashley’s non-title open challenge on the main event. At the closing moments of match, Drew McIntyre interfered in the match and caused distraction to Bobby Lashley. Then, Kofi Kingston took the advantage and pinned WWE Champion for the victory.

This was big surprise and what’s next for the Kofi after pinning the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that WWE is protecting Bobby Lashley, so, Kofi didn’t get the clean win.
The only reason for giving Kofi Kingston win over Bobby Lashley is to do match between both of them. It’s was also noted that WWE isn’t planning for long term feud between Kofi Kingston and Bobby Lashley.
“They don’t do a lot of long term stuff, but it’s very clear that it’s to protect at all costs. The only way to do a Bobby Lashley/ Kofi Kingston championship match is this. So, now they’ve got a reason to do the match. They wanted to make sure that they don’t hurt Bobby Lashley.” (H/T: Ringside News)
It’s interesting to see how WWE will book former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston against the Allmighty Bobby Lashley. With the Hell In A Cell Pay-Per-View coming up, so, we might see the clash between them at that event.
