Last week WWE announced that this week’s Smackdown going to be the throwback edition. Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins was the only match announced for this week’s Smackdown. With the retro Smackdown going to be a special but the company didn’t annouce any segments for the event.
According to the report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE annouced the retro show because of FOX is doing the similar theme with NASCAR. So, we have to wait and see what WWE is planned for the Throwback Smackdown.
The 5/7 Smackdown show will be some sort of a retro show. That’s part of a tie-in with a NASCAR race on FOX with a similar theme so that’s where it came from. So this appears to have been a FOX directive. Rollins vs. Cesaro is the only match announced so far. (H/T: RingsideNews)
Tomorrow, throwback #SmackDown !!
Will @WWERollins blame the weather again after his loss? Or will he have another excuse? A dog ate his homework? Arrested by the Fashion Police?
Also could we bring back the giant 👊 @WWEonFOX ?? pic.twitter.com/9KREtO76YS
