Tonight’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown is live from WWE ThunderDome at Yuengling Center at Orlando, Florida. It’s a throwback edition of Smackdown and we can expect something special tonight.
WWE annouced only one match for the tonight’s show. It’s a WrestleMania 37 rematch between the The Messiah Seth Rollins and Swiss Cyborg Cesaro.
Here The WWE Friday Night Smackdown Full Matches And Results With Short Review:
– Tonight’s Throwback WWE SmackDown opened with throwback style intro video with The Rock and other featured in it. There is throwback theme music and graphics. Micheal Cole welcomes us along with Pat McAfee, who dressed like a young WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
They shows us the Smackdown’s first main event happened in August 26th, 1999 between The Rock and Triple H. They says that there have been 1133 Smackdown episodes in a row and we will see more magic tonight.
– The Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring along with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso. Paul Heyman says Roman Reigns told him to eulogize the Daniel Bryan’s career with ten bell salute. Heyman says he doesn’t need timekeepers help as they will do on their own way. Reigns, Jey and Heyman bow their heads down and Heyman ‘Dings’ 10 times. Fans boos.
Reigns says unlike Daniel Bryan, he’s man of words and did what he said. He puts everything on his back and carries it because of it everyone should acknowledge him, thank him and respect him. Reigns further says he always gives everything what they wants – fans, FOX, Smackdown and even Bryan. Reigns says Bryan doesn’t want to be on Smackdown so he smashed him, pinned him and get rid of him. Reigns says now, we have to replaced Daniel Bryan with someone who acknowledges him. Music hits, here comes the Jimmy Uso, who is returning from the injury.
Jimmy celebrates with his brother Jey, then Roman and Paul Heyman. But Cesaro interrupts them and says you never replace Bryan, no offense to Jimmy. Cesaro says he had no time to Roman Reigns because he has to focus on Seth Rollins, which is more important. Suddenly from behind, Seth Rollins attacked Cesaro and brawl breaks out at ringside. WWE officials came to separate them. Then, music hits, here comes the WWE Hall Of Famer Teddy Long.
Long says Adam Pearce gave him some powers and he announced that if Cesaro wins tonight against Seth Rollins then he will get Universal Championship Match at WrestleMania Backlash. Holla, holla! Then, suddenly Roman Reigns attacked Cesaro, Seth Rollins also continued to attack Cesaro and put him to steel steps. Rollins brings Cesaro to the ring and unloaded on him at the corner.
– Cesaro defeated Seth Rollins via Pinfall and became the new #1 Contender for Universal Championship. During the match, Jimmy and Jey Uso tried to distract Cesaro but Seth Rollins yells at them to stay out of their business.
Seth Rollins attacked Jey Uso, then, Jimmy Uso hits superkick to Rollins. Cesaro took out The Usos by big splash at ringside, then, he brings Seth Rollins to the ring and hits neutralizer, pinned him for victory. Following the match, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman looks upset watching from Backstage, Cesaro is celebrating in the ring.
– Roman Reigns at Backstage when Seth Rollins walks in and not happy. Reigns talks about their history and wonders of he upset over Reigns or Jimmy Uso. Reigns understands that he screwed by his cousin but by you losing, that screwed me over and now he had to deal with your loose ends, that involves beating down Cesaro, which he will do. Reigns says he also have to deal with his family. Rollins says that cool but Reigns doesn’t then he will deal with The Usos and walks off.
– WWE aired the grocery segment between the Booker T and Steve Austin happened back in December 13, 2001.
– Teddy Long at backstage with Sonya Deville and thanking her for having him. Deville mentions unavailability of Adam Pearce and she was relieved when Teddy Long would be here. Sami Zyan walks in and tells about the conspiracy against him and the documentary is coming out. Sami says he isn’t on it and as unbiased official, he hopes he would give him Intercontinental Title shot.
Then, Teddy Long did his signature ‘one-on-one with The Undertaker’ but Sami remains Undertaker is retired. Teddy announces Sami Zyan will team with Apollo Crews vs. Kevin Owens, Street Profits, Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura. Sonya mentions that Otis and Chad Gable will be also teaming with Sami Zyan. Teddy says King Booker will be also in Sami’s team, then, Deville corrects that and says it’s King Corbin. Teddy tries to dance with Sami and Deville but Sami walks off.
– Roman Reigns at Backstage and The Usos walks in. Reigns isn’t happy with Jimmy Uso as he already screwed up with one hour of returning to the show. Jimmy says Reigns won’t be talking to him like he did to Jey Uso. Jimmy says he’s not anyone’s b***h and walks off. Jey looks at Roman Reigns and walks off after his brother.
– We look back at the July 4th, 2002 episode of Smackdown in which WWE Hall Of Famers Edge and Hulk Hogan won WWE Tag Team Titles from Billy and Chuck.
– WWE look back at the how Big Show and Brock Lesnar implode the ring for the first time on June 12th, 2003 epsiode of Smackdown.
– Bayley is in the ring to celebrate women’s champions in WWE. Bayley says she knows how the great champion would be like as she is the longest reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion. Bayley says she’s here not to talk about herself but to pay tribute to the some of our women’s champions. Bayley shows us WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze on the big screen and says she’s women’s champion for three years but she’s no Bayley. Then, WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline is shown next and Bayley had praise for her but her two reigns is not big as Bayley’s lengthy reign.
We see WWE Hall of Famers Lita, Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix, Molly Holly and Ivory now, and at the last our current SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Bayley says Belair is happy and full of potential but she’s so naive but blind to the world around us. Bayley takes few shots at Binaca and says she is the first challenger for Belair and also will take title form her at WrestleMania Backlash. Then, music interrupts, here comes the Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.
Bianca Belair asks if she can live because Bayley just can’t let her to be a champion. Belair is living her best life and it’s all about getting better at Backlash. Belair laughs at the idea of insecure and says Bayley wishes she was insecure. Belair says her confidence insecures Bayley and that empowers Belair and her fans. Belair says Bayley should be worried about herself because she’s on her way to become the longest reigning champion. Then, Bayley laughs at Belair and tries to attack her but she blocks it and puts down Bayley. But Bayley got up and kicks her leg and grabs her ear rings. Then, she laid down her by face first.
– The Usos at backstage, Jey asks if Jimmy really thinks he’s a Roman Reigns bitch. He does. Jey says Reigns always been his family and what he does benefits the family. Jimmy disagrees and says Reigns just helping himself and Jey helping Reigns for past several months. Jimmy says he needs Jey and they need eachother. He says think about the picture of Roman Reigns with Universal Title and The Usos with Smackdown Tag Team Titles that represents our family.
– Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio in the ring and Michael Cole and Pat McAfee hypes their Smackdown Tag Team Titles match at WrestleMania Backlash. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode make their way to the ring and talks some trash to Mysterioes. Dolph says Dominik doesn’t belong in the ring, in the industry or the company, as he’s nothing but a Rey Mysterio’s little kid. Dolph tells Dominik to get out of his ring so he can manhandle the business. Then, Dominik challenges Dolph Ziggler for a match.
– Dominik Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler via Pinfall.
– Kayla Braxton at backstage with Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler and Reginald. Reginald requested a match with Tamina tonight. He says he had a bad taste in his mouth last week with her baltant disrespect. Reginald says tonight he will break Tamina’s respect and next week Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will retain their titles.
– Tamina Snuka defeated Reginald via disqualification. During the match, Shayna Baszler attacked Tamina and that caused disqualification. After the match, Nia Jax enteres the ring and does Natalya. Jax and Shayna took out Natalya and double teamed on Tamina. Then, Jax yells at Tamina for disrespecting Reginald.
– Roman Reigns at Backstage with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso. Reigns talks about the responsibilities he given to Jey and how they do it for the family. Reigns says he also loves Jimmy and wants to give some opportunities to raise the occasion but he wants to know where the Jimmy stands. Reigns says he have to find out right now and walks off from his room.
– We got the video of July 22, 2004 SmackDown, in which WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon took a ride with WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero in his lowrider.
– The Universal Champion Roman Reigns comes out along with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso and walks towards the ring. Reigns tells this not how he envisioned tonight. Music hits, here comes the Jimmy Uso and asks his brother Jey where he would he stands. Jimmy recalls Jey’s Hell in a Cell ‘I Quit’ match against Roman Reigns, in which Jey refused to quit. But he saw Reigns hurting his brother. Jimmy shows the video package of Hell In A Cell match.
Reigns asks this is what this all about and Jimmy is still stuck in the past. Reigns says he and Jey are moved forward. Reigns says he don’t want to go back and forth and it’s simple, Jimmy to fall in line, stand with us and acknowledge him or else he can way back to his home. Then, while you turn on the TV, you have to answer your kids why your sitting with them watching Tribal Chief and Jey Uso.
Jimmy Uso exits the ring and stands at the ramp, thinks over it. Jey walks towards the Jimmy and says it’s easy to acknowledge Roman Reigns and do their thing. Cesaro suddenly attacks Roman Reigns from behind in the ring. Cesaro unloads on Reigns, Jey Uso runs into save the Reigns but Cesaro took him out. Jimmy watches it from the ramp and finally gets into the ring and attacked Cesaro. But Cesaro got upper hand and took him out. Then, Cesaro hits neutralizer to Jey and hits another neutralizer to Roman Reigns. Cesaro music hits and Smackdown goes off air with Cesaro standing tall.
