On the recent edition of Friday Night Smackdown, Paul Heyman cut a fantastic promo on opening segment that also includes 10 bell salute to the Daniel Bryan since he was not with the company anymore. This segment got a huge reaction at backstage but it was actually not on the script.
According to the Ringside News report, Paul Heyman’s 10 bell salute wasn’t on the script and it was discussed a lot at backstage in good way. They enjoyed this surprise segment and thought it could have been much better with live fans.
A tenured member in WWE told them that “imagine if we had a live crowd to react to this!”. It was also noted that Roman Reigns ‘cracking up during it put it over the top”.
However, Daniel Bryan is free agent now and no longer on Smackdown writing team. WWE creative didn’t script to gave much attention to Daniel Bryan but Pau Heyman’s 10 bell salute was very much appreciated.
On same night, Cesaro also defeated Seth Rollins and earned Universal Championship match. And it’s official that Tribal Chief Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Cesaro at WrestleMania Backlash on May 16th.
