According to the Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Wrestling Podcast, some the fired superstars are looking to get released from the WWE. It was also noted that company taking different approach about this.

WWE’s budget cuts are started following WrestleMania 37 event, with bunch of massive names releasing on April 15, 2021. That list included Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Kalisto, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Tucker, Bo Dallas, and others.
This released superstars also have 90-day non-compete clause and following that they can sign with other promotions. Apart from it, IMPACT Wrestling already teased the return of some WWE released superstars to their promotion with promo packages for Slammiversary.
