The former NXT Champion Adam Cole recently had an interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT and discussed about several topics including potential match with former WWE US Champion Samoa Joe.
Samoa Joe recently returned to WWE NXT after his release from the company in April. On his return, NXT General Manager William Regal appointed him as his special enforcer and also took out Adam Cole at backstage for provoking him.

During interview, Adam Cole was asked about the possible one-on-one match with Samoa Joe in NXT, then, Cole stated that match would be incredible and he’s looking forward for it if Joe returned back to the ring.
“It would be incredible,” Adam Cole admits. “Samoa Joe was one of the guys responsible for me actually discovering independent wrestling. Him, along with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan – Bryan Danielson at the time – I remember seeing those guys and being like ‘Oh my god, I have to watch all of their matches!’ And I have never, in my 13 year career, wrestled Samoa Joe. We just never crossed paths. And I know things are very different now where we are unsure if Joe will ever actually get back in the ring, but you can guarantee if that day does happen, I will be hoping and praying as much as the NXT fanbase is that we have an Adam Cole and Samoa Joe match.”
“It’s crazy how it happens sometimes with guys,” Adam Cole said. “Because that’s not always the case; you can have two amazing performers and they don’t necessarily gel or it takes a little bit to get there. With Joe, I felt it immediately. Just right away. I would love the idea of being able to do that someday – I hope so.”

During the same interview, Alex McCarthy asked Cole about potential move to Raw or Smackdown. Then, Adam Cole stated that he had some much to do in black and gold brand and right now there are many possibilities for him in NXT.
“There is so much to do,” Adam Cole said. “I find it so flattering that there are people that want to see Adam Cole on RAW or SmackDown so, so badly. But then there’s another group that’s like no, I want him to stay in NXT. Right now, the possibilities of things to do on any of the three brands feels endless for me.”
“Being able to stay in NXT, even with the 403-day reign and being a triple-crown winner and all that stuff, I’ve been with the brand for such a long time and I’ve seen it grow so much that it’s really fun to be a part of that process,” Cole continued. “I would love to win the NXT title again. I would love to face Samoa Joe. I would love the chance to wrestle Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. There’s so many possibilities within that brand.”
Cole also further stated that he wants to go to either Raw or Smackdown at some point of time and he’s very excited to compete in those brands.
“By no means am I biding my time or saying ‘OK, I’m just waiting any day now’ to go to RAW or SmackDown,” Cole added. “I do not feel that way at all. And that’s not saying I don’t want to go; of course the idea of getting to go up there and compete on those brands is very exciting to me.”
