The former WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy recently had an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and discussed about several topics including some ideas he pitched to Paul Heyman for his feud with Aleister Black.
During 2019 WWE Draft, Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy moved to WWE Raw under the wing of Paul Heyman, who was very knee to push both the superstars. Heyman often put them against on another in the ring but their feud lost momentum after Heyman’s exit as Raw Executive Director.

While speaking with Sean Ross Sapp, Murphy revealed that he had the ideas of building him and Black equally, so that they would be on same level when they compete each other, with a interesting conclusion. Here what Murphy said:
“I brought it up and [Paul Heyman] goes ‘What would you wanna do?’ I said, if [Aleister Black] gets a 20-second opponent, give me a 20-second opponent. If we’re gonna sell me as a threat, I shouldn’t be having competitive matches. I should be doing exactly what he’s doing to paint us at the same caliber,” said Murphy. (H/T: Sportskeeda)
Unfortunately, both Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy released by WWE on June 2nd, 2021. Recently, Black made his AEW debut as Malakai Black, while Murphy is waiting for completion of his 90-day non-compete clause to wrestle again.
