After his unsuccessful attempt to dethrone Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37, Edge returned back to WWE two weeks back and attacked Roman Reigns. He also schedule to face Roman Reigns in one-on-one match for Universal Championship at Money In The Bank 2021 PPV.
On this week’s Friday Night Smackdown, Edge called out Roman Reigns and that lead to brawl between them. The Usos tried to help Reigns but The Mysterios came out and took down The Usos. The show ended with Rey Mysterio, Dominik and Edge taking out Usos while Roman Reigns watching it from the stage.
On the recent edition of Talking Smack co-hosted by Pat McAfee and Kayla Braxton, Edge appeared as special guest and sent a big warning to Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Edge also looks more confident about taking Universal Title from Roman Reigns at Money In The Bank PPV on July 18th.
“So Roman, I didn’t just come back to do a greatest hits tour. I didn’t come back to just be happy-go-lucky.” said Edge, “I’m not content with that. I fought back after almost a decade, after being told I’d never do this again, after getting a triple fusion in my neck. Having my wrist fused, having a torn achilles, two torn pecs, metal rods in all of my teeth, a fractured skull, a ruptured groin- Do you think I went through all of that to come back and just be the happy-go-lucky guy who’s just happy to be here? I’m not. I didn’t come back to contend. I came back to be champion, to take back what I never lost. You just happen to be the champion. Wrong place, wrong time. At Money in the Bank I take it back, I end the story. A decade-long story Roman. It’s gonna happen. You can look at my eyes and you know everything I say, I absolutely believe, and that’s what scares you” (H/T: Sportskeeda)
On the Talking Smack, Pat McAfee and Kayla Braxton also announced that Edge will team up with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to face Roman Reigns and The Usos in six-man tag team match on first Smackdown infront of live fans at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
