Recently, Drew McIntyre expressed his desire to face 16-time World Champion John Cena in several interviews. Following his comments. John Cena posted the picture of former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in his Instagram account and WWE fans are excited about this match.
The Leader of Cenation John Cena recently had an interview with On Demand Entertainment and discussed about several topics including possible match against Drew McIntyre. Cena stated that both of them didn’t have power to make matches in WWE and that’s beyond their capacity.
“Well, I always appreciate being involved in a conversation of saying that things are important because that means people haven’t forgotten what you’ve put forth as an effort,” Cena said. “But, man, what a way to set yourself up for disappointment. In no way, shape, or form is Drew in a position to make matches or make things happen, and I’m not either. Neither of us have that power. That’s beyond our capacity.”
John Cena also further stated that he didn’t make any choices for the matches and he will do want WWE wants him to do, and that’s how he really enjoys every step in his way.
“I certainly am grateful for being mentioned, which is awesome,” Cena added. “But I’ve never approached anything like, ‘I’d like to work with this person. I wanna have a match with this person,’ because I don’t make those choices. They [WWE] say, ‘Hey, I’d like you to do this.’ ‘Alright, it’s time to go to work.’ And that’s really allowed me to enjoy every step of the way. I think if we build expectations in our head, like I hate to say this to Drew, but if that never happens, how is he supposed to feel about that?” (H/T: Sportskeeda)
Currently, Drew McIntyre was the part of eight-man Money In The Bank Ladder Match that will take place on July 18th infront of live fans. While, John Cena rumored to be return back to WWE to face Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for Universal Title at WWE Summer Slam 2021.
