On this week’s WWE NXT, Mercedes Martinez and Jake Atlas teamed up to face Xia Li and Boa in mixed tag team match. But during the match, Xia Li delivered a brutal spin kick to Mercedes and she quickly fell down in the ring.
Then, Xia Li went for pin but Martinez kicked out of it. However, referee checked on her and called off match as she unable to compete further in the match. After the show, WWE reported that Mercedes Martinez taken to hospital and now, we got another update.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Mercedes Martinez suffered concussion after the brutal spin kick from Xia Li. It was also noted that concussions are unpredictable and it wasn’t known when she will be back to in-ring action.
“Mercedes is out of the hospital, and they did take her to the hospital and she did have a concussion. Look, when it comes to concussions–and we’re at day one. You know, a concussion could mean she’s fine to wrestle next week or she might not be ready to wrestle for another six months; because you never know. We don’t know the day after so she’s fine in the sense of she’s fine, but how quick she’s going to heal from it, because concussions are unpredictable.” (H/T: Ringside News)
