On this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw, the former Universal Champion Goldberg made a big return to WWE. He interrupted Bobby Lashley’s victory celebrations over returning Keith Lee and challenged that he’s next for his WWE Title.

Who’s next for the #WWEChampion?

Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Wrestling Podcast reported that WWE needs casual fans and the company believes that Goldberg is a huge draw for them as most of the fans looking forward for his in-ring action.
He also stated that critisism for Goldberg’s involvement in the WWE Title picture comes from relatively a less number of fans on social media.
“Here is the reality WWE NEEDS casual fans. Every single analytics indicator that the company uses shows that Goldberg is a big draw for them. “WE” may not like him returning, but the majority of WWE’s fans do. The reality is we are the minority when it comes to pro-wrestling viewership. Twitter is a fraction of how many people actually follow WWE content. Don’t shoot the messenger.”

Some more notes from my convo this morning with someone at WWE.

Goldberg confirmed that his current WWE contract runs till 2023 with two matches to compete in every year and a potential title reign could be also a part of it. If Bobby Lashley accepts the Goldberg challenge, then, it would be his second match in this year, while his first match came against Drew McIntyre for WWE Title at Royal Rumble 2021, in which he lost.
