The Rated-R Superstar Edge returned to WWE couple of weeks back and straight away attacked Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. He also got the one-on-one match against Roman Reigns for Universal Championship at Money In The Bank 2021 PPV.
Previously, Edge won the Royal Rumble 2021 and challenged Roman Reigns for Universal Title at WrestleMania 37. Later, that match turned into Triple Threat by adding Daniel Bryan. At WrestleMania 37, Reigns won the match by pinning both Edge and Daniel Bryan at same time.
However, current storyline between Edge and Roman Reigns, Edge claims that he unable to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 because of Daniel Bryan get involved.
According to the Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reason for why Daniel Bryan name being mentioning on the Smackdown not because of his possible return. They have been using Bryan’s name in this storyline to showcase Edge in a better light. And regarding to the Daniel Bryan, there is no word about his return to WWE soon.
”They keep mentioning his name because he is part of the story of building Reigns vs. Edge, since they are using him as the reason Edge didn’t already win the title,” stated Meltzer.
“Regarding all the mentions of Daniel Bryan on television of late, we’re told this isn’t an indication he’s coming back. Nobody really knows what he’s doing past if he’s made a secret deal with any company, they are keeping it a secret until they do a dramatic reveal when they want to.”
