Samoa Joe recently had an interview with Ryan Satin on Out of Character podcast and discussed about several topics including his WWE Release and returning back the company again.

The former NXT Champion Samoa Joe was surprisingly released by WWE on April 15th after six years with the company. Two months later, Joe returned back to WWE NXT on June 15th episode as a on-screen special enforcer for NXT General Manager William Regal.
While speaking with Ryan Satin, Joe said that John Laurinaitis called him to inform about his WWE release, then, within hours Triple H called him expressed his desire to rehire him.
“I got it,” Joe said. “It wasn’t unexpected [WWE releasing him], but at the same time I was relatively calm about it. I’ve kind of been in this situation before. A younger me probably would’ve been really, really freaked out, but at this point you just role pivot.
“That’s really all there is to it when it comes to life in general. It’s kind of the mantra I’ve kept, so at that point I think I was kind of in the works and setting up the framework for whatever else I was gonna do. A few hours later, I get a call from Hunter [Triple H] and it pretty much all kind of changed.”

Samoa Joe said that after his release he sent some farewell messages to the people he enjoyed working in WWE. Later, NXT Boss Triple H called him and said that he wanted to rehire him immediately.

“Essentially [Triple H said he wanted Joe in NXT],” Joe said. “I sent some company farewell texts to people saying, ‘Hey, pleasure working with you.’ Some genuine people that I really, really enjoyed working with, and just some general, ‘Hey, thanks, I’m sure we’ll talk down the road at some point,’ or something like that.

“I got a text back [from Triple H], ‘Hey, give me a minute, getting out of a meeting.’ We had a brief conversation, which was essentially like, ‘Give us a little bit of time. I’ll work out a package and we’ll talk soon.’ ‘Alright, that’s totally fine, I have no problem with that.’ And it led to my return to NXT.” (H/T: Sportskeeda)
