This week’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown is live from Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It is the first Smackdown will live fans in the arena after pandemic outbreak. WWE announced huge matches for tonight’s show.
Last week, Rey Mysterio and Dominik returned back to help Edge from Roman Reigns and The Usos. Tonight The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and The Usos will face Rated-R Superstar Edge and Smackdown Tag Team Champions Rey Mysterio and Dominik in six-man tag team match.
With the Bayley’s injury, Carmella replaced her in the Smackdown Women’s Championship Match. Tonight Bianca Belair will defend her Smackdown Women’s Title against Carmella.
And also WWE announced huge fatal four-way match between Money In The Bank competitors – Kevin Owens vs. Big E vs. Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura ahead of this Sunday.
Here The WWE Friday Night Smackdown Full Matches And Results With Short Review:
– Tonight’s WWE SmackDown opened with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. He came out to the stage and fans pop big for the WWE Boss. Mr. McMahon takes the mic and asks everyone where the hell they’ve been and headed to backstage.
– Roman Reigns and The Usos defeated Edge, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio via Pinfall. After the match, Rey argues with referee but Jey Uso attacks Rey Mysterio. Dominik came to save but The Usos take them down. Then, Edge entered the ring with steel chair and clears The Usos but Roman Reigns hits a superman punch to Edge from behind.
Then, Roman grabs the steel chair and breaks the steel rod from it to use it on Edge like he used on Reigns. But Edge hits the spear to Reigns and applied the Crossface using steel rod. Reigns is screaming in pain and finally tapped out. Edge then takes the Universal Championship and raises high, huge pop from fans. He put it back on Roman Reigns and exits the ring.
– Rey Mysterio, Dominik and Edge walking at backstage and Kayla Braxton stops Edge. The Mysterios left and Kayla interviews Rated-R Superstar Edge. Edge says he wishes tapping out Roman Reigns like that meant to his win at Money In The Bank this Sunday going to be easier. He also knows that he had to dig down and do something extra to get job done. He further continues but Seth Rollins was seen laughing at Edge.
Now both face to face and Seth Rollins reminds him how Reigns has Edge’s number. Rollins says he win the Money In The Bank briefcase this Sunday and cash-in and finish what he started on 7 years back when he had his foot on the chair on Edge’s neck. Seth Rollins says he will be the crowd to support Edge and sincerely hopes Edge to win the title this Sunday so that he can cash-in on the man who made MITB match famous. Rollins wishes good luck and walks off while Edge looks at him.

– Sami Zyan came out to the stage and cuts his entrance music. He started complaining about excluding him from the Money In The Bank Ladder Match. He says fans being back, this new shiny entrance and all are to distract us from the fact that there has been a conspiracy against Sami Zyan more than a year. Sami says it’s ok because tonight he had something in his corner he hasn’t had – WWE fans, he entered the ring.
Sami says the fans have seen him be persecuted and victimized. He says fans to stand and let them know this won’t be allowed. He tries to get “Justice for Sami” Chant from the WWE Universe but it’s not happening. Then, Sami says he know this won’t happen and insults people of Texas, and says he doesn’t need them.
Sami says he needs justice and if there is any justice in the world, then, he would be in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match. No, no, if there were any justice then the briefcase would be lowered and he’d be handed the contract on a silver platter. Until then he will not let the show to go on for one minute. But music hits here comes The Prince Finn Balor, returning back to Smackdown, huge pop from fans.
Finn Balor entered the ring and both face off. Sami Zyan welcomes Balor and goes for a strike but Balor drops him down. Balor takes his jacket and drops Sami to turnbuckle. He quickly goes to the top rope and hits Coup de Grace for a big pop. Finn Balor stands tall in the ring and and his music hits back. Sami Zyan is recovering on the ramp and Finn does his pose in the ring.
– Shotzi BlackHeart and Tegan Nox defeated Natalya and Tamina Snuka via Pinfall in non-title match and became the #1 contenders for WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. At the closing moments, Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega argued near announce table and started brawling. Liv enteres the ring while Natalya goes for Sharpshooter on Nox. Liv leaps off the steel ring steps and attacks Zelina on the floor at ringside. Then, Nox took the advantage and rolled up Natalya for pin.
After the match, Tamina Snuka attacked Liv Morgan at ringside. Natalya grabs Zelina Vega and sends her into a big superkick from Tamina. Then, Tamina charges towards Liv Morgan but she moves and Tamina hits the steel steps. Liv takes on Natalya and they both fighting in the ring. Liv counters Natalya and lays her down in the middle of the ring and stood tall.
– Binaca Belair defeated Carmella via Pinfall and successfully retained her Smackdown Women’s Championship. After the match, Bianca Belair stood tall in the ring and celebrated with her title.
– Alpha Academy at backstage and Chad Gable talks about guiding Otis. He says how they saw fear in everyone when they walk through the locker room. Gable mentions how Otis going to beat Cesaro tonight. Then, Gable asks Otis what they smell in the locker and Otis says they smell fear.
Cesaro walks up and says he smells bull, just like he smelled bull when Gable had that list of potential victims of Otis last week. Cesaro says it’s good he wasn’t in that list. Gable says they weren’t thinking about it but he congratulated Cesaro as he got the Otis full attention. Then, Otis hits Cesaro into the wall. Cesaro is down trying to recover.
– Cesaro defeated Otis via disqualification. At the end of the match, Chad Gable runs in and grans Cesaro from behind and hits German Suplex, then, referee calls for disqualification. After the match, Cesaro fights off Gable and delivers swing on Gable. Otis came for save and hits the Vader Bomb on Cesaro from second rope. Fans boo, Chad Gable and Otis stood tall.
– We see what happened earlier in six-man tag team match and Edge’s interview at Backstage about how he captures Universal Championship from Roman Reigns. Now, Kayla Braxton at Roman Reigns locker room suite and knocks the door. Paul Heyman came out and Kayla brings up about Edge.
Heyman cuts her and says Edge sinned tonight, but he will confess and atone for those sins at Money In The Bank PPV this Sunday and then those sins beaten out of him by Roman Reigns. Paul Heyman then says what he just gave is not a prediction but… Big E interrupts and yelling about his usual intro and how he going to win Money In The Bank contract this Sunday. Big E jokes about Edge having a hold of Roman Reigns and laughs on his won joke, and asks Heyman if he get it.
– Baron Corbin makes his way to the ring and shows us the video package of recent happenings in Corbin’s life, losing his crown to Shinsuke Nakamura and everything else. Corbin says last few weeks is the most difficult time of his life and says he lost everything – his crown, car, savings, investments, and now the bank is calling with threats to foreclose on his house.
Fans chanting “What”, Corbin says his 2 year old daughter is sick because she has to eat spaghetti from a can instead of Wagyu beef. He also says that they had to fire their maids and boos continued. Corbin says they’re going to have to move in with his wife’s parents. Can you imagine that? Corbin says there is hope, good news, because everyone watching here can come and help him out of these dark times.
Baron Corbin says he started crowd funding website called CorbinFundMe, can be seen on big screen. He says he’s not asking much but just enough to get help him back on his feet and the goal is $100,000. He asks everyone to donate through that website and a little bit also helps him. He hopes people of Texas aren’t cheap as everyone else of the world. Corbin asks please, then drops to his knee and continues to beg.
Now, music hits, here comes The Prizefighter Kevin Owens. He’s making his way to the ring for the Fatal four-way main event. Corbin get on his feet and says he believes Owens is here for the right reasons, to help Baron Corbin. Corbin says Owens has locker room influence and if he and few other Superstars starts help out, then, fans also will fall in line.
Corbin says he’s just like Owens – they have a heart and can sympathize with those in need. Corbin tells him to not to take in a wrong way and says we know Owens doesn’t spend anything on his wardrobe, so can he find it in his heart to help? But suddenly Kevin Owens attacks Corbin and hits Stunner and clears the ring.
– Seth Rollins defeated Kevin Owens, Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura via Pinfall. After the match, Seth Rollins celebrates and climbs the ladder and take one of the MITB Briefcase. Seth Rollins celebrates high and Micheal Cole thanks WWE Universe and declares WWE is back. Seth Rollins sitting on the ladder with MITB Briefcase and Money In The Bank go-home edition of SmackDown goes off air.
