Tonight’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown is live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. WWE announced contract signing between Finn Balor and Roman Reigns for Universal Championship and also Rey Mysterio will take on Jimmy Uso in one-on-one match.

– John Cena makes his way to the ring with huge pop from fans. We get the video of John Cena challenging Roman Reigns for Universal Championship at Summer Slam but Reigns denied his challenge last week and accepts Finn Balor’s challenge. John Cena says it’s a interesting video and also responds to his comments to find the intresting partner for two decades.
Cena hyped the crowd and says tonight Roman Reigns and Finn Balor will sign Summer Slam contract and fans boo. Cena says that’s only half bad, much respect for Balor, but it only proves his point that Reigns absolutely sucks. Cena says he has no problem with rejection, he has been rejected infront of the world and we were there, it wasn’t pretty. That was a reference to WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.
Cena says Roman Reigns rejected him because he returned with the same look and music, among other things, and that is so stupid, like asking WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to come back to “Sasquatch” Steve Houston, or The Rock coming back to WWE as Dwayne “Too Small” Johnson. Cena says it’s ridiculous, it’s not who those guys are, they believe who they are and so do the fans.
John Cena further says Roman Reigns has to change for every two years because fans stop caring about him because they didn’t believe in him because Reigns didn’t believe in himself. Cena says Reigns is nothing more than a lazy stooge named Joe, who coasts by on every gimmick in the system. Cena takes few more shots at Roman Reigns and says he’s afraid to fail.
Cena further says Reigns didn’t reject him because of how he looks, but because of how he would’ve made Reigns look. Now, Baron Corbin came out interrupting Cena. Cena says he has no idea who Corbin is and later recognizes him and says he looks horrible. Corbin agrees and says he’s in bad way. He continues that he and Cena have never been close but Corbin is desperate and desperate men do desperate things.
Corbin says his life is falling apart he’s lost everything, his car, house and crown, someone stole his identity and his credit is trash. Last week he suffered an injury to a very sensitive part of his body and now he’s unable to surf the internet, Cena asks? Eat breakfast cereal? No, Corbin says he’s unable to perform. Cena jokes about exactly how Corbin is unable to perform. Corbin says because of that, his wife left and took the kids.
Corbin futher says he saw John Cena granting wishes to many people and he wondered if Cena can help him. Then, Cena asks fans if he should help Corbin, he got the mixed reactions from fans. Cena asks again and it looks like no. Cena gives Corbin what looks like a dollar bill or two. Corbin says this is it? Corbin says it doesn’t have to be money, he will work for it. Corbin asks Cena to put him on Suicide Squad movie, Cena says that filming I’d over. Then, Corbin asks about sequel or being Cena’s stunt double.
Cena says that’s a bit of a reach. Then, Corbin asks if Cena is going to kick a poor man while he’s down. Corbin futher says Cena really is a selfish, self-absorbed tight-wad, with an ego the size of California. Corbin says Cena a Hollywood sell-out. Cena says he will help Corbin with something he desperately needs an Attitude Adjustment. Then, Cena delivered an AA to Corbin in the middle of the ring as fans pop. Cena makes his exit as the music hits.
– Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio at backstage. Dominik says he will keep eye on Jey Uso whle Rey Mysterio facing Jimmy Uso in the ring. Rey is proud of competitor Dominik became and says Dominik needs to step up his game and not to make rookie mistakes so they can win back their Smackdown Tag Team Titles.
– Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair makes her way to the ring. Kayla Braxton in the ring and congratulated for her 110 days title reign. Then, she asks Binaca Belair how she sees the next 100 days playing out. Belair thanks Kayla and says past few months have been amazing – defending at Rolling Loud, winning an ESPY Award, main eventing WrestleMania 37, and now being back in front of the fans.
Belair says she keeps getting better and better and she doesn’t know how she’s going to top it but she’s grateful. Music hits, here comes Carmella. She knocks Belair for her 100 days title reign and says if Belair really wants to cement her legacy, she should give one more title shot to the women who held that title for 130 days and also known as The Most Beautiful Woman In WWE. Carmella enters the ring and makes excuses for her loss at Rolling Loud. Music hits, here comes Zelina Vega.
Zelina Vega says Carmella to better slow her roll as we all know Carmella to pretty to be the third time loser. Vega says what she wants to say to Belair, she will say it in her face and enters the ring. Vega says fans wants to see Binaca Belair challenging raising star like her. Vega says she is The Moment and no one is more deserving than her. Vega tells Binaca Belair to accept her challenge and Belair says she’s on. Then, Carmella attacks Belair. Vega and Carmella double teamed on Binaca Belair, then, music hits here comes returning Sasha Banks.
Sasha Banks enters the ring and took out Carmella first then, Vega. She hits Carmella with the running double knees in the corner, then levels Vega again. Then, Banks helps Belair to get on her feet and hugs her, huge pop from fans. Banks raises Belair’s arm in the air but Binaca Belair looks confused. Banks music hits as they hug again. Banks plays to the crowd as they cheer her on. Belair applauds.
– Kayla Braxton at backstage with 24/7 Champion Reginald. He talks about how he would do anything to get what he want in WWE, whether it was help Carmella, Sasha Banks or Nia Jax. He says tonight he’s looking forward to defend his title and he’s ready of any opponent at any time. He further says anyone who challenges him tonight should expect the unexpected.
– Reginald defeated Chad Gable via disqualification and retained his 24/7 Championship. At the closing moments, Otis attacked Reginald and caused disqualification.
– Adam Pearce at backstage and Sonya Deville approaches him. She confirms that tonight’s main event will be Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair vs. Zelina Vega and Carmella.
– Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce make their way to the ring. They talks about unpredictability of these contract signings and says they will make sure this contract is signed, sealed and delivered in the most efficient way possible. They introduced challenger Finn Balor first and next Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring. Heyman take one of the chairs and postions it to the Head of the Table. This chair is for Reigns and Reigns takes his seat as the boos continued. Adam Pearce tells both the superstars to take time to read the contract, then sign on the proverbial dotted line. Fans start chanting “Cena!” now. Reigns says we’ve already seen Mr. Missionary tonight. Fans boo.
Roman Reigns asks if Finn Balor caught up the John Cena’s promo tonight. He says Cena this Balor is lesser man than him because he said Roman ducking him by accepting Balor’s challenge. Reigns says he doesn’t agree with him ad he thinks Balor is worthy to challenge for the title, and worthy to catch this beatdown at SummerSlam.
Reigns says he doesn’t think Balor is anything like Cena as he sees Balor is hungry and he likes it. So Reigns has to say this – if Balor signs this contract, Reigns has to smash him and send him right back to WWE NXT. Fans boo. Now, Reigns signs the contract. Balor says Reigns must think pretty highly of himself, and perhaps justifiably too but it will be Balor’s privilege to return to NXT once again as Universal Champion.
Finn Balor goes to sign the contract but suddenly from behind Baron Corbin attacks him. He slams Balor to the table and takes him to ringside and hits his face to the annouce table. Then, Corbin brings back contract to the ring and about to sign the contract but John Cena came out and sends Corbin to the ring post. Cena picks the Summer Slam contract and looks over it. Roman Reigns seems angry over him. Then, Cena takes the marker and signs the Summer Slam contract to make this match official for Summer Slam. Cena taunts Roman Reigns and exits the ring.
– Paul Heyman stops Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville at backstage. He congratulated them saying that what just happened was great TV and asks them what they are going to do about Summer Slam. Heyman says Finn Balor name is on the contract but John Cena signed in it, so that’s not legal and binding. Adam Pearce says he seems John Cena and Roman Reigns signatures on it and that’s good enough for him. Sonya Deville says Roman Reigns vs. John Cena for Universal Championship at Summer Slam is official. Paul Heyman isn’t happy about it.
– Rated-R Superstar Edge make his way to the ring and we go back for commercial. Now, Seth Rollins in the ring and we got the replay of Seth Rollins attacking Edge during the commercial. Pat McAfee says Edge was taken to backstage with some help.
Seth Rollins rants about what goes around comes around and how Edge has nothing but take from him. Rollins calls it a revolution, and he’s a revolutionary. Rollins shows us a video package of recent events that led to where he and Edge are now. Seth Rollins says he’s the rightful heir for the Universal Champion and if he can’t be a champion, neither can Edge. Seth Rollins tosses the mic and laughs and exits the ring.
– Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair defeated Carmella and Zelina Vega via submission. After the match, Banks and Belair celebrating in the ring until Banks dropped Belair with backstabber. Banks grabs the title but drops it to hit right hand on Bianca. She talks trash to Belair and hits tornado DDT and applied Banks statement on Bianca Belair. The champ screams and referee tries to break it. Now, Banks stood tall. Banks again applied Banks statement and Belair screams and taps out for it. Referee tries to break it and Smackdown goes off air.
