This week’s Friday Night Smackdown aired from two different locations. The show primarily aired from Cleveland while two matches took place at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami and also WWE made a special announcement at that event.
At Rolling Loud Festival, Angelo Dawkins defeated Chad Gable in first match and Binaca Belair successfully defended her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Carmella in second match. After her match, Binaca Belair told to crowd that there is a special announcement to make and introduced basketball player, Trae Young.

The Atlanta Hawks player Trae Young announced that for the first time WWE will hold a Pay-Per-View on New Year’s Day in 2022 and it will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Later, WWE also issued a press release regarding this special announcement.

This first-ever pay-per-view will stream live at 8 pm ET on New Year’s Day on Peacock in the United States, Sony LIV in India, and WWE Network everywhere else. Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, August 27th at 10 am ET.
