Adam Cole’s WWE contract reportedly expiring on Summer Slam 2021 weekend. It was also reported that Cole’s contract expired after NXT Great American Bash but he signed an extension contract to complete his feud with Kyle O’Reilly at NXT Takeover 36.

Now, we got some backstage details about his WWE contract situation. According to the Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, former NXT Champion Adam Cole and WWE wanted to keep this contract situation as well-kept secret but things didn’t work on that way.
Unfortunately, some people within the company felt that it would be best for Adam Cole to publicize this information instead when finding out about when his deal would expire.

Sean Ross Sapp also reported that WWE yet to formally offer Adam Cole a new contract. However, it is something that is “obviously planned,” according to his WWE sources. With Summer Slam few weeks away, WWE have to act quickly to secure Adam Cole for the NXT brand. If WWE drag about this situation then Cole had options of moving to All Elite Wrestling.
