Tonight’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown opened with the face-to-face segment between the Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his Summer Slam challenger John Cena. They both had the intense war of words as they didn’t hold back at all and it will be one the best segment in WWE history.
Now, we got the details about the mastermind behind these intense battle of words. According to the Fightful reports, Jamie Noble is the person behind the opening segment between John Cena and Roman Reigns. It was also noted that Paul Heyman also had huge influence over over the Roman Reigns storylines.
It was also reported that both John Cena and Roman Reigns had significant amount of freedom regarding their promo segments in the ring.
“Jamie Noble produced the opening segment that featured John Cena and Roman Reigns or at least was listed as such. It’s worth noting that Paul Heyman has also had heavy influence over Reigns’ stories, and Reigns and Cena have a significant more amount of freedom over their segments than most.”
During these face-to-face segment, Roman Reigns had brought up the John Cena’s failed relationship with Nikki Bella as well, which got huge reaction from fans. John Cena also hit back him with saying that he was over protected by the company and almost ruined Seth Rollins and he ran out Dean Ambrose out of the company.

The 16-time World Champion John Cena also called Roman Reigns as biggest failure in WWE history. One of huge highlight is Cena referencing ending of Money In The Bank 2011 Pay-Per-View, in which CM Punk left the arena with WWE Title and blowing a kiss to Vince McMahon. He threatened to do the same at Summer Slam 2021.
