Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley is one of the big dream match that fans are waiting to see over the past years. Recently, fans also expected that Brock Lesnar might return to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title at Summer Slam but it didn’t happen as Goldberg challenged Lashley at Summer Slam.
On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed about the Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar match and stated that WWE went with Goldberg as they didn’t want to give Brock Lesnar a loss at this time.
“One of the reasons why they went with Bill (Goldberg) instead of Brock against Lashley is because they didn’t want to beat Brock Lesnar. Brock winning the championship when he is not going to be around, hardly at all. You know you can do it, and it has been done before, but you know, I wouldn’t have recommended it, as opposed to Lashley,” Meltzer stated. (H/T: Sportskeeda)
However, Brock Lesnar made a surprise return at WWE Summer Slam 2021 and confronted Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. So, WWE is going towards Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in the coming days and it will be more interesting to see what will be the situation of Paul Heyman.
