WWE shockingly released 12 NXT Superstars that includes Bronson Reed, Tyler Rust, Bobby Fish, Leon Ruff, Mercedes Martinez, Jake Atlas, Ari Sterling, Asher Hale, Zechariah Smith, Giant Zanjeer, Kona Reeves, and referee Stephon Smith. Later, Desmond Troy also announced that he got released by WWE and that made total 13 releases.
Fightful Select reported that WWE Talent Relations head John Laurinaitis announced about this releases to the rest of the company via message. It was also noted that these released NXT stars were under 30-day non-compete clause and that will end on Sunday, September 5.
Now, it was reported that WWE looking to make major changes to the black and gold brand. According to the PWInsider, internally there has been a lot of talk significant changes being planned for NXT brand.
The changes that are in discussions were includes a new NXT logo, a new lighting and look, a different format to the weekly TV show and more focus on younger talents. It was also noted that the planned changes appear to be related to the cuts.
