The two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair was granted his release from WWE by Vince McMahon on August 3rd, 2021. Following that he appeared in AAA alongside of his future son-in-law Andrade El Idolo and also spoke at NWA’s 73 event.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair recently appeared as special guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions Podcast and discussed about several topics. While speaking, he was asked about his WWE departure, then, Ric Flair clarified that he didn’t have any issues with Vince McMahon or the company before asking his release.
“I thought of what I was going to say to you today and how I’m gonna handle this,” Flair said. “I just decided that I wanted to finally, which I did for three years, make a living not under a wrestling payroll. That’s all it was.”
Ric Flair also further stated that he had no bad feelings with WWE over the way he was treated by the company. He said that it’s just business and he wanted to try something and a different vision.
“There was no animosity whatsoever,” Flair added. “It was just business. I wanted to try something and they just had a different vision… [WWE wanted me] to just get paid, basically. A lot of money. Nothing was wrong with that.” (H/T: Sportskeeda)
