The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns set to defend his Universal Championship against The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view on October 21st, 2021. Now, we got some update about the Roman Reigns next opponent after Brock Lesnar.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that The Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre will be next challenger for Roman Reigns. He stated that McIntyre was moved to SmackDown because there were no credible babyfaces left on the blue brand for Reigns and he desperately needed a new opponent. He also noted that feud between them probably start around December.
”McIntyre was moved over since Roman Reigns desperately needs a new opponent, and on paper right now there is essentially nobody else for him. Plus, McIntyre goes over with multiple losses at the end of his Raw run and presumably another to Big E, and then will become Reigns’ big contender probably around December,” said Meltzer.
On this year’s WWE Draft, the two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre moved to SmackDown from Raw and he is one of the biggest names to switch brands after Crown Jewel 2021. Currently, McIntyre set to challenge Big E for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel pay-per-view and following that he will get ready to feud with Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
