On WWE Friday Night SmackDown, WWE Draft Night 1 took place. WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville kicked off the show with first round of the 2021 WWE Draft during tonight’s SmackDown on FOX episode.
SmackDown picked WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns to stay on the blue brand. Then, Raw picked WWE Champion Big E to stay on the red brand. SmackDown also picked Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Raw picked Bianca Belair to come over from SmackDown.
It should be noted that WWE Draft changes will officially come into effect after the October 22nd edition of Friday SmackDown, which is the night after WWE Crown Jewel. Half of the roster will be drafted tonight on SmackDown, and the other half set to be drafted on Monday Night Raw next week. Any Superstars who are not drafted after Raw will automatically become free agents and can sign with any brand of their choosing.
