Ahead of this year’s Royal Rumble 2021 pay-per-view, many fans believed that Daniel Bryan going to win the Royal Rumble match and will challenge Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37 main event.
It made sense as former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan made it a point leading up to the event by saying that winning the Royal Rumble was the one thing in WWE that he hadn’t yet achieved.
Now, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that Bryan was never in “serious consideration” to win the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble despite how the story came across on television.
We’ve learned a bunch about Bryan Danielson’s last six months in WWE
– WrestleMania, Royal Rumble

Even though, Daniel Bryan wasn’t part of the company’s Royal Rumble plans to be involved in the main event of WrestleMania 37 but he still made to main event by other way. And at WrestleMania 37, Roman Reigns defeated 2021 Royal Rumble winner Edge and Daniel Bryan and retained his Universal Championship.
