Several fans expected that the former Raw Women’s Champion Asuka will make a surprise return at Women’s Royal Rumble match but it didn’t happen. Now, we got an update about Asuka’s absence for the Royal Rumble event.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Asuka’s name was being discussed about returning for the Women’s Rumble match. However, the company didn’t believe that The Empress of Tomorrow Auska was “physically ready” to make her in-ring return.

Asuka hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the 2021 Money in the Bank pay-per-view, where she was reportedly injured and taken off from WWE programming. There have been photos since that have seen her arm in a cast-like device, so it appears her injury was quite serious to be out of action for this long.
