WWE announced that The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal championship against Riddle at upcoming Friday Night SmackDown. Now we got some report regarding why WWE booked this major title for the SmackDown instead of Money In The Bank premium live event.
On the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported the reason why WWE booked Undisputed WWE Universal Title match for SmackDown instead of Money In The Bank PLV. Here what he reported:
“The bigger issue is they want to make money and they’ve already made their money off Peacock. So, putting Roman Reigns on Money in the Bank means absolutely zero to WWE. They don’t make one dime if more people watch it because Roman Reigns is on there. But, if they do big SmackDown ratings as a result of Roman Reigns defending the title on the show, well, then it comes time to renew your television deal and you make even more money.” (H/T RingsideNews)
As revealed by @HeymanHustle, if @SuperKingofBros does not defeat @WWERomanReigns this Friday in the championship match on #SmackDown, Riddle will not be able to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship as long as Roman Reigns is champion!#WWERaw pic.twitter.com/lRlpUqt6e4
