Tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules 2022 is live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. WWE announced six matches for the event.
– The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch) vs. Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci) (Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match)
– Ronda Rousey vs. Liv Morgan (c) for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship (Extreme Rules Match)
– Karrion Kross (with Scarlett) vs. Drew McIntyre (Strap match)
– Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley for WWE Raw Women’s Championship (Ladder Match)
– Edge vs. Finn Bálor (with The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley) (I Quit Match)
– Matt Riddle vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins in Fight Pit match (Daniel Cormier will serve as the special guest referee)

– The Brawling Brutes defeated IMPERIUM via pinfall in Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match. After the match, The Brutes stand tall and celebrate as the music hits. GUNTHER is still laid out at the announce table. We see Kaiser and Vinci also struggling to recover while The Brutes hit the corners to pose. They hug and then leave the ring together, yelling out about “Bangers!” on the way up the ramp.
– The Miz is walking at backstage. Megan Morant stops him and brings up what happened with Dexter Lumis last week. Miz doesn’t want to hear his name. Miz says he’s here because of last Monday, and Lumis made it clear he’s going to try and ruin his birthday celebration that Maryse is hosting on Raw. Miz came to speak with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H about… Miz stops in his tracks when he sees Gritty, the mascot for the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers.
Miz asks Gritty why he’s here when there’s no hockey game tonight. Gritty shows off his exclusive WWE t-shirt and Miz says there’s no way he’s putting that shirt over his expensive suit. Miz stomps on the shirt and insults Gritty, and the people of Philadelphia and walks off.
– Ronda Rousey defeated Liv Morgan via submission in Extreme Rules match and became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. After the match, Rousey stands tall and raises the title in the air and talks some trash to Liv. Rousey talks some more trash on the way to the back while Liv is seen smiling.
– Karrion Kross defeated Drew McIntyre via pinfall in Strap Match with some help of Scarlett. At the closing moments McIntyre went for Claymore but Scarlett stopped him and used pepper spray on his face. Then, Karriom ross delivered Kross Hammer on Drew and pinned for the victory. After the match, Kross and Scarlett begin to celebrate and referee immediately tends to Drew’s face to try and clean the pepper spray away. Kross carries Scarlett away up the ramp as they continue their celebration, staring back at the ring.
– The Miz is on the phone at backstage. He’s talking to Maryse, saying he will do whatever it takes to make sure nothing goes wrong during the birthday celebration on Raw. He mentions how he hasn’t even talked to Triple H yet because he’s busy. Gritty appears again and waves at Miz. Miz yells at him and Gritty pokes fun at Miz for being on his phone. Miz storms off.
– Bianca Belair defeated Bayley in Ladder Match and successfully retained her Raw Women’s Championship. After the match, the music hits as Belair stands tall with the title. Bayley is down at ringside now as officials check on her bloody mouth from the KOD onto the ladder at the end of the match. Damage CTRL gathers at ringside now, tending to Bayley while Belair continues her celebration in the ring, posing for the crowd in the corner. Damage CTRL stares her down.
– WWE announcers hype tomorrow’s DX 25th Anniversary Celebration edition of the Raw season premiere, also featuring Austin Theory vs. Johnny Gargano, Seth Rollins vs. WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, and Maryse hosting The Miz’s birthday celebration.
– Finn Balor defeated Edge in “I Quit” match. At the closing moments, Beth Phoenix came out to help Edge, who was outnumbered by The Judgement Day. Edge took out Dominik with low kick and hits 3 spears to Finn Balor. Edge calls Beth to bring the chair but suddenly Rhea Ripley knockouts Beth with brass knuckles. Then, Judgement Day again attacks Edge.
Balor hits three Coupe de Grace on Edge. Beth is laid out in the ring. Balor grabs the mic and tells Edge this is his last chance to say it. Edge tells him to go to hell and the crowd explodes. The three men keep Edge held down while Balor taunts him. Ripley brings a chair in the ring and threatens Beth with it while Balor tells him this is his final chance to say it. Ripley is preparing to finish Beth with a Con-Chair-To as Edge looks on. Edge quickly says he quits multiple times and the bell is rang
After the bell, Edge is still being held by Balor, Priest and Dominik. Ripley says something to him and smiles, then smacks Beth with the chair to deliver the Con-Chair-To. Edge is shocked. The Judgment Day exits the ring and stands tall on the ramp, smiling back at the ring. Edge can’t believe it as he quickly tends to his wife. Rey and referees rush into the ring to check on Beth as well. Cole calls for a doctor. Edge and the referees are also calling for help.
– The Miz at backstage with Gritty again. Gritty hands him the t-shirt from earlier but Miz isn’t having it. Miz snaps and attacks Gritty with body shots, knocking him into the next room and beating him down. Miz stomps away now and tells Gritty to stay out of his business, because this is not a game, not a joke. Dexter Lumis suddenly appears behind Miz and fans in the arena cheer. Miz turns around to see Lumis staring at him. Miz tries to run away but Lumis stops him. Lumis applies The Silence and puts Miz to sleep, bringing him down right next to Gritty. Lumis then helps Gritty up as fans pop in the arena. Gritty kicks Miz in the stomach and then walks off with Lumis.
– Riddle defeated Seth Rollins via submission in Fight Pit Match. After the match, Riddle recovers and stands tall and Cormier raises Riddle’s hand at the entrance-way as Cole acts like he’s signing the show off. Rollins recovers. The lights suddenly go out. Cole asks Graves if they’re still on the air.
We hear “He’s got the whole world in his hands…” song starts playing on repeat. The crowd lights up with fireflies. The camera pans the crowd and a spotlight shines on a life-size version of Huskus The Pig. The spotlight disappears. The next spotlight shines on a life-size version of Mercy The Buzzard. His spotlight goes off. The next spotlight across the crowd shines on a life-size version of Abby The Witch. That spotlight goes out. “In his hands…” continues to play as we see Ramblin’ Rabbit standing in another area of the crowd under a spotlight, which also goes out.
The camera then cuts to ringside and we see a head of some sort on top of the announce table, spooking Cole and Graves. The camera then cuts to ringside and we see The Fiend standing at the barrier. Fans pop until the spotlight over The Fiend disappears. The song slows down as other sounds are mixing in with it also. The camera shows what looks to be a ran down version of the Firefly Fun House, with the smaller puppets laid out.
A bizarre face is shown on a scrambled TV, speaking in a distorted voice and laugh. The mystery face says, then the lights go black. A light shines on a doorway at the stage as fans pop. A door is kicked open as a bright light shines through. Bray Wyatt now comes walking out with his lantern as the crowd erupts. He’s wearing some sort of caricature mask. Fans chant “holy shit!” now. Wyatt removes the mask and it’s him. The crowd goes wild. The lights go out and Wyatt’s new logo appears on the screen and WWE Extreme Rules 2022 goes off the air.
