WWE RAW featured another action-packed lineup this week as the road to Clash at the Castle: Scotland continued. Following a significant mishap on last week’s show, officials reportedly took precautions to ensure there wasn’t a repeat error last night.
Last week’s RAW closed with a major angle involving Liv Morgan kissing Dominik Mysterio, immediately after Morgan retained the Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch in the Steel Cage main event. Due to production issues, the kiss angle was botched when the USA Network feed cut off too early. WWE subsequently aired the kiss on social media and international feeds.
This week’s RAW main event saw Rey Mysterio losing a non-title match to World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. After the match, Drew McIntyre attacked Priest and then fended off Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Carlito. McIntyre attempted to put Priest through the announce table, but Damian Priest countered and chokeslammed McIntyre through the table to close the show. Sources indicate that WWE officials ensured the table spot was executed with sufficient time to spare this time around.
According to Fightful Select, backstage word at RAW indicated that officials tightened up some timing issues to prevent a repeat of what happened at the end of last week’s episode. The RAW main event and the show-closing angle were produced by Robert Roode and Michael Hayes.
McIntyre vs. Priest with the World Heavyweight Championship on the
line is expected to headline Clash at the Castle on Saturday, June 15.
