CM Punk and Seth Rollins Segment
Seth Rollins welcomed the crowd in Houston, stating, “Monday Night Rollins is welcomed here. Hosting duties are being handled by me. A visionary, a revolutionary, and Seth Freakin’ Rollins are who I am.” The crowd was reminded that the final episode of Monday Night Raw in 2024 and the last episode on the USA Network were being held.
A ten-year buildup had been mentioned. “The Voice of the Voiceless will face The Visionary. The Second City Saint versus The Monday Night Messiah. The self-proclaimed Best in the World against the Real Best in the World. CM Punk versus Seth Freakin’ Rollins” was emphasized. The assurance was given that Rollins would remain present on Monday nights and continue fighting in the ring. Speculation about CM Punk’s future was raised, questioning whether he would cry, whine, or take another ten-year hiatus.
CM Punk responded, labeling the “took his ball and went home” line as cliché and unoriginal. Questions about its origin were posed, while accusations were leveled at Rollins for attempting to paint him as a betrayer. The claim was made that the true betrayal had been experienced by Rollins, not the audience. CM Punk acknowledged leaving due to exhaustion and took pride in his decisions. The condition of Rollins’ neck, knee, and pride was mocked, referencing incidents involving Bronson Reed and War Games. The label “self-proclaimed Best in the World” was embraced, along with the intent to profit from their upcoming match, which was described as an opportunity to make Rollins a victim.
Rollins dismissed the “little brother” narrative, stating it no longer applied. The difference between Punk and others who left was highlighted. Rollins defended his wife’s choice to raise their child and criticized Punk for abandoning the industry. Accusations of sabotage and attempts to destroy WWE were made, along with references to Punk’s stint with the competition. Rollins declared himself a fighter who stayed and built revolutions. Punk was labeled a coward, with the assertion that his future absences would be dictated by Rollins.
CM Punk addressed the arrows metaphorically representing hardships endured, claiming to have been the first through the wall. Responsibility for Rollins’ success was attributed to Punk, and betrayal from both Rollins and WWE leadership was recounted. Punk described leaving to escape the metaphorical arrows and returning after removing them. The ongoing chants of his name during Rollins’ airtime were highlighted as evidence of his enduring impact. The intent to confront Rollins with a “fist full of arrows” was declared.
Finally, Rollins labeled Punk a cancer to the locker room, the business, and his mind. The necessity of cutting out such a cancer was stressed. Rollins vowed to bring eyes of fire, hate, and rage to their confrontation and promised to burn Punk to the ground and WWE Raw went off air.
